| Bah, you only get 40fps? I get 120-170 on average and I never see a bit of lag when I play with some friends who are the same. Certainly no shot lag or anything. |

Yea, yea, my comp sucks. I could probaly get 120-130 if i toned down the gfx, but some of us want to have more then 1 Poly per model  |

i was talking about networked FPS in general
campers and snipers are better than whiners because there minds aren't clouded by primitive ideas like fairness and honor
there is no such thing as an unfair advantage
only smart people who take intuitive and stupid n00bs who whine and complain about campers and snipers

Years ago, one of the top Descent players used to say it this way:
"If it damages my ship, it's cheap."
Anything you do to hurt your opponent, they'll find a way to claim it was "cheap" or "lame". Hope to be cheaper and lamer than them (meaning, you did more damage to them than they did to you.) |

I think we all have our pet hates.
Wolf ET is great way to illustrate this - if you go on some servers and use a panzer, you get a lot of abuse from the opposing team (Usually, it has to be said, these people always play as medics, and have so much xp you can barely kill them without a panzer. I wonder why they hate panzers so!)
My own personal hates are people who suicide in battle so you don't get any xp from killing them, and pretty much anyone who uses the word 'noob' to complain about the fact you killed them.  |

In UT2k4, I have quality maxed out on all regards, and resolution at 1280x1024. |

| My pet hate in ET are the super battle medics who will be a medic merely so they can have 150 regenerating health and get a million kills without helping their wounded teammates. I don't know why they bother, if they want a deathmatch they could be playing Quake 3. |

| I think Team Fortress Classic also has a medic class used for reasons other than being a medic. In it, medics are almost as fast as scouts, can heal themselves and get concussion grenades which are really useful for grenade-jumping because they do no actual damage, only make you dizzy. This makes them the most mobile class and one of the best at capturing flags. |

Of course, all's fair in love and war, but I think people often forget that this is a game. Suicide traditionally has gone into games incase you have problems getting stuck on geometry, if it was meant to be used in the game proper, don't you think it would be bound to a key? I'd personally update it so there's a 5 second delay when you want to suicide where you can't do anything.
It's no fun when teams become unbalanced - yet I often see people unprepared to switch sides when they have a massive xp or manpower advantage. These are the most boring games - whether you are winning or losing.

Yes - these are also the ones that always complain about panzers  . Panzers level the playing field - I think the development team got it right first time (don't you think it's amazing how balanced this game manages to be most of the time?). I've noticed mods that slow down the panzer, and weaken flamethrowers. the end result is you have a load of unkillable ubermedics running around throwing shoe boxes of health at themselves everywhere they go - boring... |

Personally, I think CS is an OK game but its very repetitive and the people that are on there are sometimes really annoying and stupid. I don't like the people that moan about things that they don't think are right.
If you can't play the game the way it was ment to be played then find a new game. |
