StarScape RPG
Setting;
During a test of a new drive that will allow ships to jump between Dimensions, something goes wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong. You're on that ship, along with all it's other crew. And there's quite a few of them. Some of them got to the escape shuttles, but you don't know where they are. All you have are half a dozen civilian mining shuttles outfitted for combat duty, and a barebones crew for your “mothership”. During the jump, something else goes wrong, your ship is boarded and the new drive is stolen. By the time you jump out of the dimensional gate, you don't have a clue what's going on. Neither do your crewmates. It's time to get out there and find the missing parts of the drive!

Characters;
Taking the role of one of the crewmen aboard the “mothership”, you'll have to jump into the cockpit of a mining shuttle and take on the alien menace. Sounds like so much FUN, doesn't it? Ahahaha. Yes, I'm laughing. Don't mind me. Of course you will be able to research and develop new technologies (as well as old ones) in order to strengthen your fleet. Ideally, all crewmen and women will be of the same race.

Starting Equipment;
1 Runabout for each PC Crewmate. (Blaster, Rocket, Engine 1, Generator 1, Grav 1)
Mothership. (Unarmed)
Mothership Factory.
Mothership Labs.

Starting Statistics;
Mining; 10.00
Accuracy; 10.00
Piloting; 10.00
Missiles; 10.00
Blasters; 10.00
Unknown; 0.00
Unknown; 0.00
Unknown; 0.00
Unknown; 0.00
Unknown; 0.00
Unknown; 0.00
Unknown; 0.00

Extra Skill Points: 10.00

You can't spend the extra skill points on the unknown skills, but you can spend them however you please in the first 5 stats. 10.00 indicates basic flight training, with combat simulations and mining simulations. 10.00 is average, and cannot be reduced, basically.

Mining = Determines the number, size and quality of crystals from rocks.
Accuracy = Determines whether you hit your target or not.
Piloting = Determines whether you can make evasive manuevers or not.
Missiles = Skill with missile weaponry (missiles/heatseekers)
Blasters = Skill with basic blaster cannons

What I Need From You
Name.
Race.
Statistics, with modifications for extra skill points.

How about Aegis crew members, like foundry operators, one of the five members of the initial research teams, or the like?

Those are NPCs. There's no real point in being one, all you do is sit around doing very, very little.

I'm sure they would object to such talk Razz

There's much more to operating a stranded mothership than just gathering rocks. I'm sure you've at least had the diligent crew fix you up during a big combat situation in area 5. Plus, I'd really rather take a support role in configuring ships than actually flying them.

I'm pretty sure the pilots can configure their own ships. Razz

Seriously though, you're going to be limited when it comes to RP'ing, so there's not much point in playing support when the main point is that the players are the focus of the RP as pilots, not support team members.

If you're really desperate, you can save me time and RP the crew of the Aegis, if you so desire. Rolling Eyes

EDIT: Icarus; in the game, you ARE the Captain. So that means you're also flying, like any other pilot. Razz

You also need to stop pressing Submit twice. Rolling Eyes

And the whole POINT of the RP is that you are a PILOT. The HERO of the RP, as it were. Who wants to be in a supporting role when you can be the hero, eh? Eh?! Rolling Eyes

The whole point of the RP is that it takes place nearly 100% outside of the mothership.

I'll put it simply;

Don't like how I'm running it. Don't play.

That's fair enough - a GM is putting a lot of time in for your enjoyment at the end of the day...

Well, there IS the fact that, in the game, none of the configuring is directly done by you, and there is a captain already, you boing the helmsman, not captain.

But you do have a point with being GM. I'll come up with a character soon enough.

I'm pretty sure the gal in the dark-blue jumpsuit refers to you as "Captain" at least once. Especially during the first vs. Boss level. Might just be me.
