I've realized that my experience in RTS's is pathetic. So, I need to know some good ones. What do you suggest? |

i personly always liked:
Kingdom Under Fire , imo its better then the whole WarCraft* [blizzard] series, other then that Age of Mythology.....but RTS isnt realy my fortay, i ushaly stick to more fun gaming like RPGs. |

Surely this kind of post has some clever internety name? Is it "trolling" or "flame bait" something?
i.e. lets go onto a forum dedicated to a specific activity X, then make a sweeping statement along the lines random activity Y is obviously far superior.
Actually I'm not an RPG expert so he might have a point, I usually stick to more fun gaming like speed eating curry competitions in Japanese Karaoki bars. |

starcraft is prety good but when you play skirmish vs. cpu it always usesis the same tacktic (rush in the first 5 muinets beacuse the coumputer is to cordanted) in battlescape i want the coumputer to have the same limataions as you (eg. it can only do one thing at a time.
and cac genarils please give me a break (the crusader is an artilary unit not a tank and it was decomishoned plus the comanchy was obsalete before it came into production) geranels is just a shamles atempt to take advantege of "the war on tearor"
but AOE is a good rts espeshaly AOM |

| Beside the one up above, I must also recommend Conquest: Frontier Wars, although it did not do well it had some very good concepts and I enjoyed it. |

How does Warcraft 3 stand up to the others? (I havn't played any.) And, on the older games like TA and Z would I have any trouble getting them to work on XP?
As for CC, if I can't handle generals, what other of its many expansions should I try? |

| War3 was kind of a cross between Starcraft and an RPG. You had fewer total units, but the weakest ones were fairly strong, and you had up to 3 hero units who gained experience, levels, and spells / skills through the campaign. I never much liked it -- I though the RPGishness really took away from the strat part, and there was too much mouse-speed emphasis for me -- but a lot of people loved it. |

| TA works on my win2k and winXP machines, not sure about Z though and it wasn't a great favourite of mine. C&C:TiberianSun was my favourite C&C game I think, although I liked all of them really. |

TA is one of the first 3d strategy games. (It might actually be the first, I dunno.) You wage war over land, sea, and air. Land units are the norm. Sea units have huge weapons, great for real coastal bombardment. Air units have incredible speed, and are actually able to penetrate an enemy's defenses to get valuable targets.
With the queueing system in the last patch, micromanagement is kept to a minimum, and you can focus more on waging war. Being able to queue constuction up for hours is great, but sometimes you fight so hard, that you gotta go back for more. |

| TA, Starcraft and AofE(2) are still available at most places, or just search on amazon. |
