And moving platforms...and crate crushers...

Moving platforms and lifts are basically different sized versions of the same thing. This link by Weeble has some notes about the options for lifts and moving platforms. From that link:
Weeble wrote:

  • name - a unique name to identify the platform
  • pathx - a distance to move east (positive) or west (negative)
  • pathy - a distance to move up (positive) or down (negative)
  • pathz - a distance to move north (positive) or south (negative)
  • initstate - "active" or "waiting"
  • motion - "constant" or "one way"
  • The destination of the platform is determined by displacing it by pathx, pathy and pathz. Although you can specify a diagonal direction by having more than one of these non-zero, it seems to have odd timing, pausing at one end of its movement.
  • If motion is set to constant and initstate to active, the platform moves constantly backwards and forwards between its starting position and its destination. Otherwise it moves along its path when the player stands on it and activates it.

The only other thing you might like to know is how to set a floor switch to activate a lift or moving platform. To do that simply make the switch's target the unique name of the lift or moving platform.
To activate a lift or platform from the script send it a message with sendMessage("unique name", "SYSTEM", "PING", "ON")
AFAIK once a platform is activated it will move until its self set stop point is reached. So if you set a platform to active in the editor you cannot stop it from the script except by blocking its path.

Hmmm... blocking lift paths with other dynamic objects gives me ideas... and I haven't played with crushers yet ether... I need to go work on my adventure too...

Right click the .config file and choose "open with..." then pick notepad from the list of programs that pops up. Sometimes there is a check box that you can check to make your computer always open .config files with notepad.

If you don't see "open with..." when you right click on the icon, try holding down the shift key while you right click.

Some people probably like to use other programs to edit their .config files, such as wordpad, notepad2, notepad+, etc.. Because these provide more functionality.

Yes definitely. We are also considering some other ideas to kick start a bit more user adventure development. Currently however we have a very heavy workload so can't say when this will happen. Please feel free to post questions here though and we'll do our best to answer.

Using LUA.

Using LUA, as described there: http://www.moonpod.com/board/viewtopic.php?p=19584#19584

Download existing custom levels and look into the LUA files. You can find them in the directory C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\MrRobot\data\unofficial\xx\rooms\*.lua after you downloaded them ingame. My level (Lost Nanomeks) has a lot of LUA code in it.

You can also open the file MrRobot.000 in your Mr.Robot game directory with a text editor(!) and look at the LUA code done by moonpod. Search for "h1r1.lua" for example to find the LUA code of the first room.
The code of room 1 was also posted by Poo Bear: http://www.moonpod.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=3487

There are several other threads, for example this one, were you'll find basic and advanced information about Mr.Robot programming.

No. You have to hide the crate and make it appear when needed.

You really do not need an editor documentation. You can figure it out by yourself, even the LUA part. Just look at the source code of Mr.Robot, as I already explained. It's all not that hard.

(I'm a little bit sad that Poo Bear and Fost seem to hardly respond to forum posts any more.)
