A question to the Moonpod team: Where did you guys get the idea to name the default character Jameson?

My guess is after the default captain in Elite

I'm going to assume you're not being ironic.

Elite is the grandfather of all freeform 3D space shooters and trade sims. With a fully 3D gameplay using flat shaded polygons in the days of EGA games, it really was something to behold. I never got the hang of it, though. Luckily, I won't be manning any single-person space crafts any time soon.
