apperently you've already found this out because there's an ad for you on the nuklearpower website, but i bet there's a huge market there. tons of people read that comic and brian gave it a very good impromtue review. I also think pcgamer would be great if you could get them to talk about you. but, being so small and cash-lacking, that might be a problem.

We did get in a PC-Gamer cover disk, but your right that getting a review is difficult when your in a non-mainstream genre and have little cash to wine and dine.

FiringSquad is very cool - if you e-mail Mr. Marcus Yam and setup to have him play a full version of the game to try it out, you may get some coverage and even a possible review.

His e-mail is: marcus@firingsquad.com

BlueNews will post just about any news from a developer - and tons of gamers read their site daily.

Penny Arcade ad hooked me in Very Happy And I'm not sure I've ever been to any of the other sites you advertise on, but then PA does draw a weird bunch!

Real Networks, I hang out there a lot. They have a good system of Review, ratings and all the rest. Generaly I think they are way above average at promoting things.

I saw the ad on tucows (which I visit very rarely) and was struck by the "old school" look of the graphics. (And Starscape certainly lived up to this, reminding me of the days of simple games built around gameplay, rather than graphics)

I hang out at slahdot.org a lot, and suspect an ad there would do well, but with the number of hits they get per day they are probably more expensive to advertise on.

www.gtaforums.com
GTA series forums. TONS of people.
www.runescape.com
MMORPG with a HUGE number of players. It's free, but there is a 5$ a month premium version.

As for places you already advertise, Penny Arcade, Weebls Stuff, 8-Bit Theater. All of the other places I go to regularly don't advertise. There is Newgrounds, but they only advertise for hentai.

http://www.gamefaqs.com

there's A LOT of people there. But you guys might consider another tactic as well: word travels quickly on forums, tell people about it, as many opportunities as you have. That's the one type of advertisement that always has an impact and is always free.

I honestly hope this helps; good luck guys.

TELEVISED ADVERTISEMENTS!!

Bwahahaha

PA is definitely already spoken for, but I suppose if I make a thread discussing it in the forums there it wouldn't hurt.

Web sites I visit? Well... Mac Hall, PvP online, Real Life, User Friendly, VG Cats (I can see that site advertising - if it hasn't already). Each of those sites having of course a varying degree of feasibility. I go to Megatokyo and 8-bit theater too, but that has already been mentioned. Yes, I am a webcomics-type person. Gamefaqs may have already picked you up - I don't usually check their advertisements. The specific profile is what counts there - it could probably use some work. I half think that the absence of faqs there is somewhat related to your comprehensive hints guide, though Wink .

Edit: On second thought, I noticed that everybody on the internet is advertising Starscape. heh.
