Buried is a very odd film, the whole 90mins is set inside a normal sized coffin with our hero trapped underground. I wanted to see the film just to see if it was possible to make a 90min gripping film set inside a coffin - and they do manage it amazingly well.
Ryan Reynolds plays the lead role, I've seen him in a couple of films, most notably Blade, and never thought that much of him, but he puts in a fantastic performance here.
There's an odd vibe to the film, it's very anti-war, anti-government, anti-establishment and quite gloomy - that's OK now and again, it balances out all the saccharin BS we normally get fed It's one of those films where I'm very glad I went to see it, but I can't say I 'enjoyed' it. I must be a little claustrophobic, because it made me feel quite uncomfortable.
