Can you actually get hurt while entering or exiting the Aegis? I don't remember ever getting killed by a stray shot during the process, even in some quite tight circumstances, and I had come to believe that all collisions with the player ship were ignored during the tractor-in and tractor-out sequences. |

Not that I've ever witnessed. As far as I remember, as long as you're in the tractor's pull, entering or leaving, your not taking damage. Next time you play, look for a little delay for example as you leave the station. The only time you should be fair game is after it drops you out of range.
I think for the most part, at least with regard to asteroids and gems in the way, the scoop and drill concept alieves that dilema somewhat (exception would be I suppose, that you have room for gem storage on Aegis or it'll be a repeat of it). But I haven't had as bad as a time with the doors as you guys have but I have seen what your talking about in action. I just chalk it up as the station being in immediate jeopardy and until you clear it up you can't dock. |

Whether that target be a mineral, floating crew-member (or crashed crew ship asteroid?), enemy, Xenarch station, or Aegis? Would that work?

It would actually be nice if, when you're full on resources, to repair the aegis as it pulls in resources, or when you dock and you're full up, that it uses the remaining resources in your cargo hold to repair the Aegis if it can, instead of just wasting it.
It's debatable whether or not this feature should function as Repair first, store second for any minerals you intake, not sure how much it would alter the game difficulty. It'd really be more to make mop up faster than to hold out the Aegis in a heated battle |

It does this as of v1.6 or so. Any surplus minerals in your cargo hold (beyond the 100 the Aegis can store) go directly toward repairs of the Aegis or your current ship.
I'd like for them to modify it so that if the Aegis is completely full of a particular mineral type and has a tractor lock on another gem, it pulls the gem in and repairs itself. That doesn't happen yet, though. |
