Yes, the Flash 9 for Linux beta was announced here. 32-bit only though for now. |
Thanks for the link. Once I get back to my desktop, I'll be sure to try it out.
Edit - Once I got it installed correctly (reading readmes help a lot), the trailer works perfectly. So, in case there's anyone else reading this off a Linux box, just get the flash player 9 beta and it'll work fine.
Direct link to the Adobe download page here. |

Problem for me is I like to capture at high res, so I can play with cropping in the video edit. At that res, you end up being limited by hard-drive speed. We had bought a dual drive array specifically for capture, but it dies when we started using it |
Hey Fost! We were evaluating all that stuff too. SnagIt is another alternative. And was the first that we could achieve good highres results with. But with a trick: we slowed down the gametime to 1/5 and let SnagIt take a picture every 1/5 second. This was a little nasty because you couldn't really play while capturing but at the end you had high quality image sequences what is still the best for editing I think. Messing around with any type of video was bloodcurdling in AfterFX or Premiere.
Finally this lead us to a inhouse solution: now we have a hotkey in the engine that enables capturing. This mode locks the gametime to 25fps. The images are jpgs and are written to a new folder. |

Thanks! It's a really cool day today - we started Moonpod on my birthday, so it's Moonpod's 4 year birthday, and we can also celebrate entering beta too!
Re: vid capturing - on gunmetal, we had full recording of game controls, so you could record a game session, then play it back dumping out frames as it went. It actually took as long as it wanted to render each frame - so the videos were completely smooth even when the game framerate dropped |

Are there any steps that need to be taken if one's board email is several revisions behind the current customer email or is that of little consequence? i found the email amidst several hundred spam messages. |

Yeah I got my mail too (I sometimes go a couple days to check it - its usually spam anyway). However I'm not sure yet if I can participate. I worry about the computer I have (Even if I can assume the computer that ran Starscape well will run Robot well) - its been promising to die on me but it won't.
In a few weeks I might have a better hand-me down computer though, we'll see. |

Are we allowed to know what this 'sploit is? I know there's a thing called an NDA and all, but I won't tell. Honest
Really, I just want to know if it's a ghost-hack related exploit. If it is, I have a whole head full of "You hacked the hacking robots!" puns just ready and waiting |

Nice trailer! The game is looking really great and I am very excited about the release. The level of polish on the graphics is simply stunning!
