Yes. The PS3 is region free for games*, but region locked for Blu Ray.

Annoyingly, although quite a lot of Blu Ray disks are region free, they often don't bother to put the region code on the case. ...

and the bin: don't you have bottle deposit on the cokes?

We don't have that over here. Bottles just get put in the bin. Germany's way ahead of the UK in terms of recycling. Loads of areas still don ...

Radio 4 did an adaptation of this last year, and it came out on CD last week. It's well worth a listen, if you get on with radio drama.

I've still not seen the '72 version. I'll have to bump it up ...

My memory of DX7 is a bit vague now (it is about 7 years old after all), but I thought that antialiasing didn't really get sorted out in DX until DX8. It was all a bit vendor-specific before then, I t ...

Are you using straight win32 or MFC or some other library?

If it's win32, then you set the window title in CreateWindow(), and can change it later with SetWindowText().

Assuming it's a windows a ...

The game needs DX9c installed, but it doesn't need DX9 'class' hardware. In fact, I think I had it going on a geforce2, so an MS 420 should work, as it;s about the same.

The main difference, as far ...

Btw: With pads+Starscape, I always set revese and forward thrust on triggers

That probably won't work so well on the 360 pad, as the DInput drivers are a bit odd and map both triggers to a single a ...

While I don't mind the idea of paying for addons, I think they need to be fairly sizable and also shouldn't be coming out at the same time as the game. Also, you really shouldn't be able to get stuff ...

The controls are a bit ropey, but it's quite good fun, going by the Xbox Live Marketplace demo.

It's one of the first games (as opposed to D3D demos) I've seen using proper per-pixel motion blur, a ...

I don't see commercial games moving away from C++ any time soon because of consoles. Essentially, the only compilers that exist for games consoles are C/C++ so that's what you have to write your game ...

It's not quite a handheld UFO/X-Com, as it lacks the research, geoscape and random map bits of the original. There's nothing but story inbetween the linear missions, in fact. It is, however, a very ...
