Adam Curtis makes some fascinating documentaries about the real power behind the headlines, why stock markets crash, why we moved to privatisation of public services, the thinking behind it all and why it sometimes fails. In his latest he discusses how the power players thought they could use computers to manage uncertainty and control world economies. How these theories came about and why they failed. Shown on BBC, so you might be able to watch on their iplayer, but maybe country restricted(?). Very interesting indeed.
