Will it be in the MrRobot or starscape universe?
RobotQuest or Questscape would be awesome.

another thought.
Do MrRobot and starscape take place in the same universe?

No, I'm going to try fantasy this time. It's nice to try new things and so far we've had scifi and historical so fantasy should round it out.

Yes, they do.

Yes, they do.

Now that's interesting because.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
In Startscape The Archnid went insane because they uploaded there minds into there computers.
In MrRobot this is obviously not the case With Zelda/Zamanova.
Is Terran cybernetics technology less inherently evil, or do humans have stronger minds?

Spoiler (highlight to read):
Well, in MrRobot the humans back on Earth were certainly worried about what would happen if a pure AI was allowed to attain sentience. Plus, of the two humans that uploaded their minds, one definitely went insane.

I tried to leave scope for future games to explore what happens on Eden. Will it go the same way as the Archnid?

The Archnid were kept in check (for a while) by the Xenarch, their old robot servants, re-programmed by their predecessors to remain just below a sentient state. In MrRobot it's slightly different, because the robots are becoming truly sentient and, initially at least, want to work to help Zamanova and perhaps the rest of the crew. So maybe together it won't turn out the same way.

I was actually hoping you'd keep to the sci-fi theme for your hardcore games. It would be nice to see an RPG on those lines as well, say technology and psi skills rather than weapons and magic.

But really I'm happy with anything as long as its not a hidden object game or some other such casual tosh! Smile

Well, I'm thinking of exploring the rpg genre with an eye towards revisiting Starscape actually. I want to know how well people respond to something fairly simple i.e. that I can actually get done in a reasonable amount of time Wink I was impressed by Aveyond3, simple but still fun and I have a soft spot for jrpg turn based battles (see MrRobot).

If it goes well then I'd love to see a Starscape where you can board larger ships or beam down to planets and continue the fight on foot. That's way off though.

I played Ahriman's Prophecy, which was Amaranth's first foray into jrpg, and tried the Aveyond 1 demo and I was quite impressed as well. The sequels seem even more polished. I know that she used some RPG maker tool to build the games so that may have helped speed up the production process. Having said that, I guess most of the work is in the assets and story line rather than the engine itself.

Do you plan to roll your own or are you going to use an existing engine?

If it can speed up development then I'll use middleware, at least for the first game, to get a grip on the genre, see which tools are important and get something out. Once I'm comfortable with where the genre is going then I'll make my own.

Beam down? Boring. Dropships are where it's at! "Co-Mon you apes, Ya wanna live forever?"

Actualy Ship is a misnomer because they don't go in the water So is space "navy" and space "Marine". A better term is TAV (transatmospheric vehicle) and ISV (intersetlar vehicle)
Also, AKV (autonomous kill vehicle), OTV (orbital transfer vehicle), HLV (Heavy Lift) SDV (Space Dominance), ect ect... When you don't have to be precise, Spacecraft works just fine.
