PS3 Home - very limited "second life" type social networking, but looking way nicer and it's free !

LittleBigPlanet - build 2d game play sequences, share them with others, all physics based, looks absolutely gorgeous.

I think this is the first time I've thought - ooh nice, I want it!

That is certainly one very cool looking game. Very Happy

Think it would indeed be the type of thing I'd want to play and it would make for a great party type game. The creative & file sharing aspect of it is really interesting in a 'Sim' game sense.

However, I just cannot see me buying a PS3, or indeed in all probabilty any next-gen console. I don't think I'm into gaming enough these days to justify buying a new one at any price, let alone the cost of a PS3. The only one I've even looked at before now was a Wii for the retrogaming aspect (which I am far more into than new titles) but is that really worth me parting so much money? I'd have to say no.

Kudos to that design team though - I hope LBP does very well for them - certainly damn well deserves to. Smile

I wish that Little Big Planet didn't have to be a Sony-funded Sony console exclusive. However, I'm betting that there will be a fully-functional independently-developed PC copy-cat within a year and a half, so I'm holding off on the PS3 purchase.

I want Little Big Planet, but I'm not paying over 600 dollars for one game. Sad

Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank Future, and presumably FFXIII. Three games worth having for PS3! (and Home looks spiffy too). I'm definitely waiting for the slimline redesign model though. Last time I bought my PS2 two months before the redesign came out Sad I'm not making the same mistake this gen.

Yeah, well, you'll be waiting around for four or five years, then. It'll be ages before a slim redesign comes along, dude. Usually around the time the next generation is closing in. Personally, I'm just waiting for the first (or second) price drop.
