Hey guys! I joined a while back thinking you would be finished soon aand since then Iv just kept keep hanging about without saying anything. I feel compelled now (by the gods of game development!!!) to tell you Mr. Robot looks beautiful and I am really looking forward to the final product. The robots seem to have something a bit special going on and everyone who sees the Mr. Robot wallpaper on my work computer stops to ask me about it.

Hope all the hard work pays off for you soon Smile

Here's a nice welcoming present. Pay attention to the parts in bold.

Hey, they created the grammar police force just for me... I don't think they need a combination since I'm not really a troll (not nearly as much as icarus for example).

Icarus' troll badge is more of a mark of honour though. He's worn it with pride, which is admirable.

Before this thread gets off topic...

I would just like to say GOOD WORK guys. It's amazing what two guys can do when they put their heads together! I am literally in awe at the quality of Starscape, considering how small the dev team is, and Mr. Robot seems to be of even higher quality, and there's only two of you now.

Here's to hoping many new customers and to sticking it to the big game dev companies!

Are there rally only two guys working on Mr.Robot? Fost and Poo Bear?

Actually I'm exited about the self developed bucktracker! We have sumthing like that too! Not browser based but capable of multi location use via internet as well. Looking through the evaluating just reads like in our companys bugtracker evaluation :] seems its almost all crrrp out there.

maybe you can do that ingame-hotkey-auto-bugreporting like you did it with the starscape unlock-key thingy. Press the hotkey - Zapp - a webpage opens up with everything setup already. Maybe even a screenshot attached. So you only have to hack in the according facts and Off you go!

Yes, the core game work of Mr. Robot is just Mark and myself, but we've also used several contractors: one for sound effects, two for music, and a writer (part of an experiment in working with a local writer which has gone very well). The 'founded by' comment refers to Darren who wrote the sprite pushing engine and gui system for Starscape, and then developed our 3D engine. Once he'd done that he moved onto greater things and is now working on PS3 and Xbox 360 titles, although we occasionally drag him out to the pub against his will Smile You can find a lot of his posts and some developer diary entires under the name 'Goober' on this very forum.

Ewerybody put his finger on something important there. Easy save and upload of screens. A very good point.

Not sure we can support that with Mr. Robot for a few reasons:
  • What's often going to happen, is the game will crash before anything can be done, so you won't be able to do anything.
  • You still need some way to link with the bug tracker section of the board. Can be done, but it's out of the scope of this project. We really wanted to just get a usable bug tracker and not much more. I think when we move to Olympus, we'll plan out exactly what we need, but since we are going to throw away the current board, it's not worth spending too much time on it. The experience of this beta will be invaluable in deciding what else we might need.
  • The board is now so customised, that standard mods that might be able to do some of this functionality just don't work Sad.

Ill have a quick look into the standard attachment mod - it would be worth getting that up and running on the bug tracker. There used to be a button for dumping screenshots too, maybe we Poo Bear can see if it still works?

I say it whould be worth it!
There is nothing more bad than people that hesitate to write a bug because the way is too long.

But whats bad too is people that upload screenshots for stuff that is described accurate enough and obviously doesn't need screenshots: like .. "in level 7 if you do $%&$ the robot is invisible. look .. " Or even make videos for shhht like that!

On the other side: its good to have everything collected. even the smallest thing. So you at least have read about it.
