Is this a Prowler?

I want mine to say "Serenity". Will that decal be in the full version of the game? =D

I doubt it would be, what with legal issues and such, but it really is a compelling thought. Maybe if Nick came up with an alternate design of Serenity's decal that looked just different enough to not be illegal, but I suppose it'd still be in violation as long as the name was the same and the logo looked remotely the same.

Maybe an almost identical design, but the name tranquility?

Yeah, I built the 3D model of the ship for Mr. Robot with the idea that it would look like an early prowler class design. It's one of only a few things that hint at the link. Although, there's nothing that links the two massively, they are just set in the same universe (which, is just our universe come to think of it Smile )

Yes, there's a couple of shuttles around the place (note: NOT a flying toy - so don't get too excited!!) which all have 'interesting' names. Hopefully it would be seen for what it is - an homage. It's easy enough to remove if we need to.

Yeah, I forgot about that one. Currently, there's only 4 shuttles in the game though. I might save Blue Midget for an update though - there's a shuttle based bit of gameplay on our ideas database that I'd love to put in an update.

Funnily enough, it was difficult to think of many famous scifi space ships that actually had name logos.

Now that you say it, I realise that's true. It's not like the Millenium Falcon has a logo. Or the Star Destroyers. Now that I think about it, that's a pretty big fallacy of the Star Wars universe. The Empire has no logo. Or does it, only I don't know about it because silly me has only watched the films. The Empire SHOULD have a logo. Something to instill fear in the peoples of the galaxy.

I like to think Darth was approached by some marketing people:

Marketeer: Hey, could your evil empire benefit from a custom logo?
Darth, closes fist. Marketeer clutches throat and then falls to the floor coughing blood, then dies.

Maybe that's just my personal fantasy; I'm sure everyone here knows what I think about marketing people...

Actually, the Empire has a logo:

It's just not quite as cool as it could be. :)

I have a friend with the Empire logo tattooed on one shoulder. He has the Decepticon logo on the other. Wink

Oh yeah! That thing! It is, though, as you say, not very good. Less is more! Lucas could have taken some pointers from the Nazi use of the Swastika. Not as in copying it, but taking some pointers in simplicity and effectiveness. It's just such a bang on the money logo.

If that's nerdy, then I guess I should mention my Jack Skellington and my Good Omens tattoos.

(And maybe not my Clockwork Orange tattoo, either. Razz)

So he should just steel a peaceful symbol and make everyone think it is evil?

The Swastika was a buddhist/hindu symbol for good luck. It also was used by the american indians and several Pre-Christan european realigns before hitler STOLE it.

Just another reason to hate the nazis.

The NERD thing was mainly just Ironic Hypocracy. But that sort of thing is lost on the web.

Yes, I know about that, in fact, which is why I specified that I was talking about the Nazi use of it (the inverted swastika, if you will, since it was flipped over). My point was, in any case, that it's a simple design, which makes it so much easier to etch into people's memories.

I was always found it quite disturbing that the school I went to had their own excercise book covers printed - the logo was the Nazi eagle one, but in the circle where the swastika was supposed to be, they'd put the name of the school.

What kind of school did you go to.

Actually the buddhists used swastikas facing both directions.
anyways inverting It doesn't really change Its meaning.
