Puzzle games are actually some of the best ones out there. Just look at Tetris for example. They can be incredibly fun.

Firstly, It isn't a puzzle game (but I can totally understand why you might assume that based on the pics Very Happy )

But, that's a really valid question anyway, So to answer it:
We don't expect people to buy our games. We try to make games that we've poured our love and energy into; games that we would love to play. Then we let people try them as a demo and make up their own mind. Not everyone has the same tastes, not everyone will like what we've done, but if we are lucky some will (as Starscape has proved - there are people out there looking for other types of games). If Mr. Robot doesn't turn out to be your cup of tea, hopefully we'll work on a genre you like in the future Very Happy

Actually, you are totally wrong there. It surprised me too when I found out, and I think it surprises most men who've grown up on games, but the 'casual games market' (or puzzle games as none marketing/sensible people call them) is massive. Popcap make millions of dollars per game from their site.

It's not really our market though - I think we'd only do a puzzle game if we could think of a cool idea. Although the millions of dollars per game thing makes me think: perhaps we should get into it Wink Hmm, I'd actually love to make an arkanoid game, but there's so many out there...

Yeah, that's cool, I have no problem with that (and in fact that's how I feel too!) Your question was do we think someone would pay for a puzzle game though, and quite clearly, people are buying more popcap games than games like Starscape. People like us are actually the minority.

Anyway, it's all a bit of a moot point (although interesting). Mr. Robot isn't a puzzle game. It just has that capability because of the inherent structure to it.
