i see you point now.

no reason why any of the actors/actreses mentioned could not play it that way. maybe rin is the exception if you want her to look really oriental.

what do you think about max von sydow as max? isnt he perfect? i think he is swedish or from norway (somewhere round ther) but he would still be the best max ever.

mabe if we collect all the ideas, we could do a poll for each idea...

EDIT - another good max would be that man from das boot, and i think he is properly german.

Edit2 - Jürgen Prochnow (cool, he is a real german Very Happy )

If we get enough ideas, I'll set it up and I'll even do a mockup poster featuring the actors we decide on. If we get enough ideas - I don't think we've scratched the surface yet - even one off ideas for single characters would be good.

Yeah, the world is crying out for another good SciFi tv program. Something that pushes the boundaries a bit would be nice and is more action focussed than StarTrek.

Starscape would be pretty good with it's 'lost in space' plotline, although you'd have to expand on the warp a bit.

To me, Rin looks perfectly caucasian... I see her name sounds japanese, but just from her looks I can't think of any better actress than Demi Moore to play her. Just look at her picture on IMDB, Rin and Demi could be twins.

Besides that, I really like the idea of Kirsten Dunst for JJ... she's just so hot and still cute.

BTW whats going on with Battlescape?

I always saw the characters as a bit of a mix of races really. The number of mixed race people (in the UK at least) has been increasing exponentially over the past few years, so it sounds logical that the people of the future will be the result of a cultural melting pot.

Have you guys considered a sci-fi spoof instead? Could still be Starscape, could still be the same setting, just funnier? Smile

I was pondering some uncharacteristic actors in the roles. Maybe all the women could play the men, and the men play the women for starters. Or go in another direction like Sea Lab on the Cartoon Network, a cartoon that satirized its old '70s one. I guess before you need to satire yourself, you need a first one I guess Smile

Then you could just hire no-name voice actors.

Wow, are those her natural eyes? Perfect for a villianess (Or a suductress, but that's not the issue here >.>)

What more, she's an utterly cool actor - how rare is that? good looking and talented. Very Happy
I'll watch anything if it has Rachel Weisz in it - I even watched the whole of 'About A Boy' with that plonker Hugh Grant in it. It was on TV the other day but she;s only in it for about 20 minutes Sad

The big Rachel Weisz question has to be: Was that her in the 'Anck Su Namun Vs Nefertiti' Mummy Returns fight scene? Or a body double?

I just wonder how much people would call this a ripoff of a TV show with almost the same name and a very similar premise...

Hopefully people will recognise the difference between a small mobile space station with only qualified fighter pilot on board to defend it and it's crew from annilihation from a bio-mechanical race, and some interstellar rogues and their earthling passenger in a living spaceship as they go through various things

Their only argument would be the name. And 'scape' isn't exactly copyrighted
