Too bad this isn't a Futurama game, I could think of a lot of cool wait animations for Bender |

| Hmmm... How hard would it be to make a Winamp visualisation plugin that has the robot dancing to whatever music you play? AFAIK Winamp does all the extraction work for you, it's up to you what you do with the data you get. If it is possible I think it would be great as a teaser for the final game & to show off what the engine is capable of doing. |

Fost: Couldn't you just release the animation publicly as an individual under the fair use if you only broadcast the playback music of the song without the actual song and its lyrics?
The way Mike did with his spider animation. |

| I could probably release it, and then tell everyone the name of the track, that would be ok, but if I embed the track into the avi, then that's illegal (obviously) |

I don't know...
I mean, sure using a hefty chunk of it might get you in trouble, but a minor portion with crediting it shouldn't cause trouble.
Besides, look at stickdeath, Rob been embedding partial or almost full tracks in there, and none gave a **** to harass him legaly.
And people sure are happy of his "animations".
I know I am. |

I think the minimum you can legally use for sampling purposes is about half a second - so not much of a dance there!
If you use someone else's copyrighted works without permission then it's pretty clear that you are breaking the law.
In any case - I'm only working on the animation for my own personal gratification, it was never intended to be a promotional piece for Mr. Robot, so it's not an issue really. |

Off with promotional piece.
I'm talking about your personal protfolio, just like any ordinary person putting some piece of video on the 'net and adding some soundtrack to it.
Just like cpt. immy used to do, never heard of anyone suing him over it. |

I'm not sure I get your point: If I finish off the video and put 'Robot, Robot' by T.A.T.U on it as the soundtrack, that would be no different than hosting an mp3 of it (i.e. illegal). Just because it's free doesn't somehow make that ok.
Or Am I missing your point? I can't comment on anyone you've mentioned, because I've never heard of them before and don't know the specifics of the music used. |

Since you seem to have so much free time to bum at the forums instead of working on the game ( ), take a trip to http://www.stickdeath.com , try "extreme motox", "inside the kill box", "the carrot patch" and the "martyr machine".
I hope you enjoy metal and violence (you know you do ). |

Well, Poo Bear used to be in a band, and Goober plays guitar, so it's possible [need a throwing up emoticon].
Sadly, I don't seem to have any musical abilities. |

Can you hold a camera? Flashlight?
Ah hell...you could make moonstock banners.
If you animate it, they will come... |
