| There's inherently no reason why we couldn't do this as most psychic abilities would probably form some type of weapon and associated effect. As far actually doing it though, it's not something we have yet discussed (at least with regards to humans in the Starscape Universe:wink:) . We have always strived to justify everything that happens in the Starscape universe (for everything you see in game, there is at least four times as much in the form of Poo Bear's notes on how things would work). Psionics have always seemed like a way to inject a little fantasy into scifi - which is no bad thing, but the Starscape universe has always been pure scifi in our minds. There are ways in which it might make sense though, and in fact some future story related concepts might benefit from it. |

Waht if the phycics were
1.insane ppl with huge mentla powers adn had to be kept under lock and key at all times? SO if you relsased them tehre is a 50-50 cahnce thell turn on you. BUT if they dont poor enemy...
No.
2.What if there addicts of some enhancment drug? taht seems more realsitc
3.Or just goign throught space w/D-drive changed their minds and now they can do stuff liek that.
4. Or my last idae is a genetic defect that when exploited gave them telacenisis and other powers.
# 2& 4 seem teh best-drugs would eb powerfull adn humans can probably manipulate genes at that level by then.
Thank you for your time

I'm just pulling your leg
Btw: have you read the comic? I would have to say that's worth reading more than the film is worth seeing. I only read it recently, as the movie wasn't one of my favourites (It was the first anime I saw, back when no one even knew what anime was, and I don't think I fully appreciated it I'm ashamed to say). Anyway, the books are amazing, and they helped me appreciate the movie far more (which, thankfully, I immediately wanted to watch again!) |

I'm not too sure what you mean by that, but if you are referring to something in the American voiced version - I always watch the subtitled version. Not because I'm some sort of Eliteist, but because the dubs are generally so awful. Ghibli films are about the only exception to the rule, because they are usually done by large companies and so they hire good actors to do them. (Kirsten Dunst as Kiki, and pretty much everyone in Princess Mononoke was good).
I'll try and remember to scan a page tonight so you can see.

| I'd have to agree - it's not brilliant, but I still think it's much better than everything else that gets dubbed. Even though I don't speak Japanese, the emotive quality of the actor's voices speaks volumes. It seems pretty obvious that it is considered a very serious profession in Japan, and more effort and love goes into it. There are good dubs though, I just wonder why they aren't of the quality seen in Western produced animation. I don't remember watching the Iron Giant for instance, and thinking 'the voice acting in this film sucks'. |
