Just a quick "heads up" regarding the latest patch. This takes Starscape to 1.4d.

Get them from the customer panel

Or If you are using the demo version, get the demo update from:
http://www.moonpod.com/English/updates.php

Full history of fixes:
1. fixed messaging directing you to ship wreckage when it isn't there, apparently happened when the enemy drag you into a node sometimes. Should be fixed, but can't verify.
2. fixed the problem where gems extremely close to the ship wouldn't suck in witht he grav beam.
3. fixed the glitch where the warp out effect looks wrong if the Aegis gets knocked. Should be fixed, but can't verify.
4. allow early abort of the demo's 20sec outro nag screen.
5. fixed some spelling errors in equipment definitions.
6. reorganised in game exit dialog to prevent accidental game quit.
7. reduced first demo nag screen time.
8. reduced the time the game waits for you in tutorial to complete first task i.e. if you don't know how to control the ship you wont have to wait very long.
9. let people press a key to skip in the warp in and warp out effects.
10. when the demo aborts it will try and save the game to "AUTOSAVE", if there is an empty save slot or another AUTOSAVE slot.
11. if the station launch doors are blocked by asteroids the station will attempt to push them out of the way, this should stop you getting stuck inside the station. Should be fixed, but can't verify.
12. can set the game to permanently run in a window by altering the config text file.
13. change the message if you don't have OpenGL drivers to specifically tell you to go and install the latest OpenGL drivers.
14. plus everything from the versionQ patch.
15. fixed more text errors.
16. fixed a bug in v1.2 where pressing escape during the tutorial could lock the game.
17. fixed a bug where "skip time" and "map key" on zone map would sometimes remain disabled.
18. fixed a bug in zone3 where the Xenarch speech was cut short.
19. fixed a crash bug due to pressing escape during the tutorial in the "ship select" or "ship construct" screens while another menu was open.
20. problem with voodoo cards fixed.
21. graphical error with batteries fixed.
22. support for 800x600 screen rez.
23. sound effects added to game intro (not the logo).
24. new difficulty modes easy/med/hard where med/hard limit your access to certain technology until certain zones have been completed.
25. new survival game mode, play for 10mins or infinite against ever harder enemies.
26. added support for DX8 as well as OpenGL which should help people who have compatibility problems on certain grahpics hardware/driver combinations.
27. bug fixes in the effects system and object spawning which may have caused rare crashes after extended play.
28. Survival mode score upload codes so you can add your own to the online high score table.
29. Cargo pods to increase space on your ship for resources
30. Survival mode crash bug fixed
31. Survival mode difficulty and progression speed increased
32. in game conversation freezing up fixed

cheers,

Patches are available for both download and CD versions, but be sure to install the correct one for your game. If you manage to install the wrong one (say, if you're drunk or something Wink) then just install the correct one over the top and it'll be fine.

Get them from the customer panel

Or if you are using the demo version:
check http://www.moonpod.com/English/updates.php for the demo patche

Bump, ouch.

Version 1.4a Patch + Full download now available (woo!).

What's f1xx0r3d?

Survival mode works a lot better now. We fixed the crash bugs and Poo Bear changed how it plays so there's more pressure on quicker (you have Weeble to blame for instigating that I think Smile). It's a better game anyway.

Also, some other minor fixes, a small fix to some gui stuff, you probably wouldn't notice it, but seeing as a version was being built we put it in.

enjoy! Smile

Note that score codes from version 1.4 will be incompatible with version 1.4a

"Oh my good grief! The worms! Aaarrgghh! Run away! Nooooo! They got smart too!"

Well that was certainly entertaining. Good job. I'm going to have nightmares about those worms. Those terrible worms.

Weeble.
