Thanks. In a way it's great to get some exposure, but then again I'm not sure how much it helps our business i.e. no customer details, no price control, helping promote a competitor, etc.

The counter argument is that once people sign up to something like Steam/Impulse/Bigfish, you'll never see them again anyway so you don't lose anything. Not sure I totally buy that, but we'll see.

I'm just curious - how much do you actually get from Steam sales?

a percentage that is better than a lot of other portals - not many portals want people discussing the exact details.

I guess having the games up on Steam is good for moonpod, especially because Steam customers are a lot more likely to be hardcore gamers (or at least not the only-casual type). As moonpod games seem to be more attractive to (male) hardcore gamers due to their Sci-Fi theme, there are a lot of potential customers...

And you are featured in the Steam News and the games are really cheap.

I would love to hear how well Starscape and Mr.Robot have done in some weeks. Smile

Just noticed the games were up on Steam when I was picking up the Left 4 Dead demo (which barely runs on my system... got a new vid card in the mail.)

Is there an easy way to add my existing Starscape/Mr.Robot installs to my Steam account?

No, you'd have to buy the games again through Steam. (There was an upset about that when the first Penny Arcade game appeared on Steam and the Steam version had achievements but the playgreenhouse.com version didn't - they fixed that for episode 2.) Of course Moonpod will get some of the money if you buy again.

I'm sure they'll give you more activation codes if you need them though.

Moonpod is also on Direct 2 Drive, saw that the other day thought it was pretty neat.

Gah! I just noticed the perfect combination of Starscape and achievements! But now I find I am denied from already owning it! Oh the irony!
