Yay! Finally got to see something good! All those mega million, hollywood superstar movies that are terrible, then along comes a super low budget, no-name actor horror movie that's really good
It's done in the style of Blair Witch, but actually is much better. Based on a true story about a 1940's small town in the middle of nowhere that was suddenly abandoned. The 400 population just packed their bags and wandered off one day, down an old trail. A few dead bodies are found down the trail, but most of the 400 are never found. Cut to present day and a group of student type gullible daft idiots decide to research some old maps, find the trail and go film what's down there to make a book.
Cue much fun and frolics, murder and mayhem
There are a couple of tacked on bits that don't sit quite right, that seem very similar to 'The Shining', that I think they could have done without really, but still.
It's not fantastic, but certainly above average and definitely when you've watched three sucky movies in a row. |
