It's not cute! Imagine hundreds of them scrabbling across the ruins of civilisation towards you, your rifle's ammo counter winding ever downward as you desperately fire into them. Your wounded comrade drooling blood as you try to drag him into cover, screaming for him to get up.

I absolutely loved Screamers, I'd never heard of it and caught it by accident late one night on tv ages ago.
It's by the wonderful author Philip K Dick (a short story he did) and the screenplay is by the great Dan O'Bannon (alien, aliens, total recall, dark star). It's a made for tv movie with zero budget and a pretty rubbish cast, except for the lead Peter Weller (robocop) who is great. It's just a great story and even with the low budget it's quite scary.
Yeap, low budget, but extremely high quality, pretty scary like you said. Its a fact that Canadians are capable to do wonders even with the low budget. I've seen their B production movies, better than Hollywood ****
The reason why I mentioned it is because of what you said above and that, ugly peace of **** mechanical abomination, reminded me of that movie.
The movie is actually much better than that ****** trailer. The trailer is missing all the limb amputations, creepy atmosphere and quality sound and video. I watched that movie in a high res wide screen version, one of the best movies ever. Whole cast is awesome, its better than Avatar 3d, which is overrated.
